Hit the beach! (river and mountains too)

The beginning of summer was so cool we actually used the
woodstove in June for the first time ever

The heat of the season didn't kick in until well into July

crystal clear Sea of Japan

yet another view of the home range
center right, tallest peak

twisted pine

nearly every ridge has a top that sometimes looks like this,
sometimes it's not so clear sometimes it is
getting up to it is the hard part of course
and if you're lucky you'll get the view

a very different kind of place nearby, dry and sandy
Bambi wiped out the free salad bar!
Lettuce, tomatoes, cukes, okra, even potatoes all gone :(
the town is supposed to give us wire for electric fence soon

I think its under the picnic table?

  1. Johne,

As always, epic shots from there. Too bad about the veg patch. Ever considered sticking up a green-house ? You'll find yer gold... it's not a matter of if, but when !

After a few visits to the beach this summer, and remembering a beach-combing (metal detector style) video you linked to a few years ago, I'm seriously thinking about investing in a metal detector.

  2. Hi ken, yeah I'd like a greenhouse but it'd have to be very sturdy with the wind and snow, probably should get on that.

I highly recommend the detector, it's great fun, exercise, education and maybe cha'ching to boot.
